Do you have a list of the bands yet? I know it’s for a good cause but, I would like to see who is playing before I buy tickets.  I must admit that I am not musically diverse.

Ditto here, it’s about a month and a half until the festival, can you provide even a partial lineup with timeslots yet?

Okay, I’m not an old fogey and I love music but was not a fan of the music playing so late into the night in an outdoor town setting. It could be heard in my baby’s room and her bedtime certainly isn’t after 10:00 p.m.

Maybe if they plan to do the concert next year it could start earlier/end earlier???  Just a thought. I live about 4 blocks away. I can’t imagine how loud it was for the people who live closer.

I am a parent too, and remember the infant stage, but you are being unreasonable and unfair.  It is not like it is ALL the time.  Instead of complaining, you should be greatful that we have people that put events together in this moderately small town that are designed for a ll ages!  I am sure that before kids noise didn’t bother you, your life changed not the rest of the world.  The same goes for the people compaining about the fireworks and the carnival.  There was life before kids, life with kids, and after kids---just different.

On a happier note I would like to thanks all of those invovled in gjiving Stewartstown a wonderful music festival!

definitely agreeed Laura!!!
first thought ~ “if it’s tooo loud, you’re tooo old” ! wink
besides, aren’t noise curfews usuallly at 10:30pm? sounds like they gave you a break a half hour early…

be grateful for the event being held for local artists! i hope some of the artists made out welll at their booothes!

i’d like to addd that i did like the one fine artist’s works that were very surrreal and colorful. not the one with the acrylics, i believe they were watercolors and ink, goood stufff. a seeemingly very young couple were in the boooth. it was very “dream” oriented. i liked it alot.

anyway- thanks for the great festival! and hope to seee y’alll next year!

I agree with you Brian on the “if it’s too loud, you’re too old” statement.

I thought that in most towns or cities that 11:00 p.m. is the noise curfew.  I know at outdoor concert venues like Merriweather and The Nissan Pavillion it’s 11 p.m.  If I were to have an outdoor party, I would turn it down at 11 just out of courtesy.

We went to party in August at our friends’ house where they had a live band playing.  It was “The Blues Vultures” which is Ronnie Youkins’ (from Kix ) band.  They play good-time rock-n-roll, nothing nasty or raunchy.  Our friends have 3 acres of land in rural Carroll County, MD and would you believe that the cops showed up at 9:30 p.m. with a complaint from some neighbors?  Yes, 9:30 on a Saturday night!  I could understand if it was like 1 a.m. or something but, 9:30!!!!  The band did their best to turn it down but, it’s not easy to do that with sound equipment.  So when the cops came back around 11:00, they decided to just stop.

We all had a good time with it and said “you know it’s a good party when the cops show up not once, but twice!” ; )

i’m surprised the cops even bothered with it… being only 9:30pm.

the neighbors who callled must’ve beeen a friend of someone at the station…
or they reported posssible “extra-cirrricular activities” going on so the cops had to respond rolleyes

S-town noise ordinance goes into effect at 10 pm.  I didn’t know this until I looked it up recently when we were planning a large event at our place.

I am thinking it was probably older people because our friends’ had all their ‘cool’ neighbors at the party!  And, it was not a wild party as children were present including my own.  Just a fun time with a live band!

Yep, sure was!  Two kegs actually.  I took it easy on the beer though because I had my kids and my daughter’s friend with me.  My husband was home with the dogs because our older dog was not doing well.

Our friends throw great parties.  Some of the parties are ‘no kids’ so the adults can be adults and not have to worry about watching the kids.  It nice that they host both kinds of parties.

That bad part is that our friends live an hour away in Carroll County.

Yes, it is a haul but, it’s worth it.  We meet up there with about 20 friends.  Amongst this group of friends, we have people that come from Reading, Lancaster, Carlisle, MD & WV so, it’s cool that we can all see each other at these parties.  The interesting part is that we all met on the Funny Money message board and we evoloved into this awesome group of close friends.  It not goes way beyond just seeing each other at Funny Money shows.  We forged everlasting friendships.
