Sometimes the younger crew are pre-occupied with all things teen (girlfriend/boyfriend talk between cashiers), but I’ve never gotten any bad vibes that made me uncomfortable.
The younger weekend kids are friendly ... it’s the regulars during the week that give me bad vibes. Especially the old cart man Bob and a few of the cashiers.
I’m not sure if their chicken is fried or broasted but we like it. Several times I’ve stopped in to get some for dinner and they take it and all the hot foods out in the late afternoon. It would be nice to be able to get some for a quick dinner once in awhile. I’m sure it doesn’t take that long to clean the case where that food is kept. I know they would sell some if they left it out longer.

Have you ever chatted with him? He is a very nice man and the Dad to one of the employees. Maybe you just caught him on a bad day. I do not know him personally, just from the store. He always has a friendly word for me when I walk in.
I would love to shop at Saubel’s but aside from some cereals, they don’t carry anything we use. No organic milks, no low sugar kid’s yogurts that aren’t in odd flavors like cotton candy, no nitrate free lunch meats, no turkey dogs (much less nitrate free hot dogs), no low fat cheeses, no lean ground beef, very small selection of whole grain breads, etc. 4 months ago I went in with a list of about 25 items we regularly use and came out with 4.
It’s strange how much they promote the Shrewsbury store as having so many organic products (though most are silly like shampoos, vitamins, etc) but the Stewartstown store is completely the opposite with few healthy choices. Is it the clientele? No demand for healthy choices in Stewartstown?

Why is that? You don’t enjoy feeling good and being healthy while eating fresh tasting food?
I do too. In moderation. More so in my 20s. But then my 30s came along and my body just can’t handle a diet of pepsi, doritos, twix and In and Out burger like it used to. But at least I have the memories (and thankfully no physcial souvenirs)
