Does anyone know if leashed dogs are allowed on the walking trails at the Hopewell Area Rec Complex on Plank Rd?  I think if the park comes under the jurisdiction of the DCNR, that dogs are allowed.  I looked up the DCNR rules and regulations which states that dogs are allowed in parks.

Thanks!

I do believe that they have signs that dogs must be on a leash, so I would say yes.  As a matter of fact the last time I was there (a week or so ago) I ran into a few people that had dogs with them.

Cool!  Thank you very much!  I am thinking it might be nicer to walk with my furbabies there rather than on the street and in town.

Dogs are allowed on a leash. Is a great place to walk I hope that all that use it respect it and such as cleaning up after them selves and their dogs if you know where I’m going with this. Also take note that it seems to take several days for parts of the path to dry after rain.
Hope all get out and enjoy!!!

Thanks bjw.  I agree your comment about keeping it clean.  I will have to remember to some plastic bags along to clean-up after by furbabies.

I’m just wondering out loud here.  Does anyone know how costly it is for the ‘pooper scooper’ bag stations (for lack of a better word).  It’s basically a pole with a dispenser for bags.  Only asking because I know I’ve been out in the past with my dogs and we’ve gone through all of the bags we took with us, and one managed to “one up” me.  Not that people shouldn’t take proactive responsibility, but in case you needed one.  Are there trash cans along the trails or parking lots to dispose of the bags?  Or is it a ‘pack in/pack out’ kind of park?

There are no garbage cans.  At least I’ve never seen any.  Pooper Scooper stations would be nice.

My biggest question is when will the playground be open?  It appeared finished about 8 months ago, but it’s still surrounded by mesh fence preventing people from using it (or was last time I was there a month or so ago).
