Does anyone do, or know anyone who does bridesmaid dress alterations?  I am hoping to find someone in or near Stewartstown.  Thanks!

Have you found anyone to do the alterations?  What did you want done?  I have been doing seamstress alterations for years in my spare time, Pm me if you still need work done.

I know someone who is an accomplished seamstress.  I will ask if she is interested.

I haven’t found anyone yet.  We are supposed to order dresses on the 22nd of March and of course they tell you about 12 weeks before it comes in.  Most likely it will have to be shortened as I am only 5’1”.  I am not sure what else will need to be done to the dress yet, sorry for the lack of information.  I will probably know more once I am measured and can see what size gets ordered.  I know the gown will be from the maker Impressions and the style is #1350.  Thanks, I will be in touch as soon as I get more information.

A little story before you order your dress.  Once I went in for a bridesmaids fitting and the sample dress fit me almost perfectly, yet the lady insisted on ordering something two sizes larger.  We had a heated discussion, and she finally gave in ordering the correct size and I only needed a little taken off the length.  Some places will purposely order dresses way too big to get extra money for alterations.

I use Hanna Cleaners and they have done alterations on my daughters prom dresses for a reasonable price.  Check out the local dry cleaners for their hourly rates.  Many have seamstresses.

Thanks for the advice.  The place we are ordering from doesn’t actually do alterations, which is why I am trying to find someone.  Plus they are located in Eldersburg, Md (about an hour and 15 minutes or so from Stewartstown) and I wouldn’t drive all the way there for alterations anyway.  I have dealt with Hannah Cleaners before and I knew they did minor alterations, hemming and such, but I didn’t know they took on what will most likely be a lot of fixing.  Thanks for the help!

Al, I live in Stewartstown and have been told my rates are quite reasonable.  When you get your dress, determine what you need done and let me know.  When is the wedding?
