Are there any other MT Wirefree customers out there who are now with Double Dog Communications (DDC)?  I had e-mail and web mail access on Saturday night - but nothing on Sunday.  I called and left a message with DDC and received no return phone call today (Monday) about my problem.  I called again this evening, but of course, too late for their business hours - so I left a message again.  I didn’t realize I wouldn’t be able to get my e-mail through web mail or outlook - where I used to get my web mail, it is now an “under construction” page.

Apparently MTWirefree was sold to DoubleDog. I found out when calling about problems my parents were having. They were never told. Of course, in their case, who cares. The service was not working for months and communications were going unanswered all the time.

Yup.  Glad I dodged that one.  Didn’t get a timely callback for installation a few years ago, and figured that was a bad sign.  Turns out it was!

Since then, I’ve suffered with Clearview, but at least it works more often than not.

Yeah - someone finally got back to me today - seems I needed to change my incoming and outgoing mail servers (which I knew, but needed someone to tell me what the name of them were).  You would think when MT Wirefree sent out their message saying thanks for being a customer, but we are selling out to DDC, they would give us the correct mail servers, or DDC would contact us well in advance of these issues.  Seems like there is always something.  If there is anyone who needs the mail servers, let me know, I have that info now.

It looks like we are all with DDC now, I talked to someone about a bill I got, and they said we will eventually have to change our email address....  I don’t like having to do that… looks like we don’t have a choice.  I think a mailed letter would have been moree approiate thatn an email.... not too business like for me… too impersonal for all the monies I have mailed them.  It certainly came out of the blue too..  Would have been nice to have notice instead of after the fact.

For all of those who now have Double Dog, how has your experience been thus far?

Unfortunately for me, when DDC came to my house to realign my antenna, they were not able to get a strong enough signal (even with my huge $100 antenna I bought when I was with MT Wirefree) to keep me connected satisfactorily.  Apparently, they installed new equipment on Maple Lawn (where I’m connected), which was supposed to make it better; maybe for the ones who are now connected it is???  So, I’m back to dial up—hate it, hate it, hate it!!  But, at least it is reliable!  I can remember going to my computer hoping it would be connected and stay connected until I was done - and it usually didn’t.  So, I use my cell for phone calls and my house phone for internet connection.  I was pleased with DDC in their efforts - a person was at my house from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM and they even brought their huge bucket truck down from York to see if they put my antenna up on a tree/antenna pole, if my connection would work.  But, you guessed it, it didn’t.  So, they did what they could for me.  They set me up with a cheap dial up connection and it is reliable.  Hope that is an answer to your question.

Hmmm, I live right behind Maple Lawn too.  I guess it can’t hurt to have them survey the site.  Thanks!
