I am writing to let everyone know they are closing Downs Rd in Muddy Creek Forks, the road is so messed up that the Township wants to close it.  Due to someone moving the creek and getting away with it.  Lower Chanceford TWP is having a meeting on June 3rd at 8PM at the Lower Chanceford township building, come and protest this… it’s not right for one person to take over a road!  DEP won’t do anything, the creek has been moved and no one will enforce the law, the creek is running out on the road!!  The townships solution is CLOSE the road so they don’t have to deal with it.  Tell everyone to come to the meeting and help us stop this injustice!

Wow - that stinks!  We looked at a house on Downs @ 10-12 years ago and really liked the area/road.  I don’t recall it being THAT close to Muddy Creeks, however I do remember a real small creek that ran right along side of the road.  Is that what was diverted?  A small creek, loose gravel road...sounds like a day project to get it running under the road at some point.  I guess one would have to see what’s happening to understand.  I assume that those houses are still inhabited!?!?  Does anyone live upstream from the person who “moved” the creek so they can “move” it again and keep it from getting down to them?  Sorry to hear about this as it does seem quite illogical.
