Anyone out there care to comment on the service you get or do not get from various wireless phone carriers while in town (esp. the lower part of the Station)?  I want a plan that I can use to replace my home long distance service, so reliability at home is a MUST.

Thanks…

I use AT&T. From my home off of Plank Rd, I don’t get good reception. I usually end up using my regular phone.

We have VoiceStream wireless for $39 / month for 500 anytime and free weekends and we get great service here in Stewartstown.  We live on Hershey circle.

I use Sprint, and its hit or miss depending on where I stand in my house. I am off of Crosstie. No signal at all on 851 from Stewartstown to 83 and a weak one on 83 until I get close to York or near the MD line

I live on Hollow Road and I use AT&T. The service I get is great. No complaints. I even use this as far away as Delaware. They offer different plans but I am happy with the one I have for $29.95 a month. This includes 100 minutes peak and 1000 off peak (9pm to 6 am Monday thru Friday, and Friday 9pm thru 6 am Monday). There is no charge for long distance. Other plans are available to fit your needs but as I said, the service is great.  cheese

I use Voicestream (now T-Mobile).  Living in Cedar Lane, off Scarborough Fare, reception is patchy in the house, but fine when outside the house.  Reception via 851 or Plank Road toI-83 is unreliable.  My plan is $39.99, including 600 anytime minutes and unlimited weekend minutes per month.
Hopefully, now that Deutsche Telekom have taken over Voicestream, there will be more investment in infrastructure in southern PA. i.e. we’ll get more transceiver towers in our area, especially one to serve Stewartstown!
Wake up service providers, spend some of your profits on developing the network… farmers, non-farmers and commuters alike use southern PA.  We want a reliable, usable wireless service at home, at work and on the move.
