My son and I both got used motorcycles recently and I was a little surprised by the cost of having the routine scheduled maintenance done. Could be that’s just what it takes, but at least I’d like to have the work done competently. Does anyone have recommendations for good quality motorcycle service? These are Kawasaki’s. Thanks!
I take my bike to Big Boyz Toyz in york. Yes it is pricey, I spent close to 300 bucks on an oil change, inspection, and air filter. The air filter alone, was 75 bucks!! But I think it worth it and they do a great job.
Well, I take my metric to a local guy in New Freedom I’ve known for years..........if I tell you who he is, that means he has less time for my bike in the garage though, sooooooooooooooooooo.....nope, keeping it close to the vest
When I first bought it, I had WRS Motorsports in Red Lion tune it up and inspect it, the work they did was fine, the dings it came back with were not fine, I would not recommend them.
My husband does his own maintenance, but does use Harley parts. He follows the maintenance schedule in the manual, as he does with all of our vehicles.

I also would NOT recommend WRS for any work on cruisers.

I don’t have a bike, but what about the guy on Plank Rd.?
I called him up to see if he’d do routine service on my Kawasaki, he only works on Harleys. He told me to call another guy in Stewartstown, he also only works on Harleys. I took mine to Don’s Kawasaki in Hellam. I did the oil change myself, had him do the rest for the 3,000 mile checkup and the yearly inspection. I’ll have to check to see what I paid for it.
I took my 83 Yamaha to WRS for Tires and inspection. If they did cause any dings I would not have noticed… LOL Bike is in relatively good shape for its age but… Well I am sure that it had been dropped by the previous owner.
They were OK in my Book I guess. They had good a price on tires that i needed. There was a problem with another person that was picking up a bike while I was there that would not start after they worked on it. Hmmmm....
I will need the fork seals changed soon. I might attempt this myself. As the kit is only a few bucks. But would like to know of a good place in case I get stuck. LOL
WOW $300 for an oil change and air filter. Yikes. But some bikes might be hard to work on.
Yea I have a sport bike, so it isnt too easy for me to do myself.
I will have to keep that in mind when I look for a new one in a few years. I like to do my own maintenance.
I have know people that have gotten hosed. Paid for service they did not get or were quoted one price and when they went to pick it up it was double. They did not even bother to call to ask if they wanted the extra service done.
