I was hoping someone could recommend a doctor in the area to give a physical to my son who is 15. We belong to Stewartstown Family Practice, but we cannot get an appointment till August. Due to him being 15 he needs a work permit and a physical for a summer job now. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you don’t mind driving, you can get a quick appointment and physical at Patient First in Bel Air.  I know it is a drive from Stewartstown, but it is convienient.  They are on McPhail Rd in Bel Air

You can try a local chiropractor (sp?). My son needed one for his learner’s permiit and I was in the same situation of having to wait a couple of months for an appointment. I found out that chiropractors are allowed to perform physicals for schools and drivers permiit. You may want to check on the work permit though, but it seems like they would be able to do that too. I called a couple and was able to get an appointment the same afternoon. AND, the one I went to didn’t even charge me!

I will send you a PM about the one we went to. I felt that they really did me a favor and treated us very nicely, so I don’t want to post their name on here and get them flooded with phone calls asking for free physicals. I did offer to pay, but they refused. Very nice I thought.

I wouldn’t have thought they would be able to do these types of phyicals either, but as I was looking at the PA webiste about learner’s permits, it said the physical could be done by a chiropractor. Since I figured they ‘might’ be less booked than a regular doctor office, I gave it a try and found them very accomodating. I called them at 9:30 in the morning, appointment was made for 4:00 the same day.

PM sent.
