I said this before a couple of years ago and haven’t been inside since but I gave it another try yesterday.  That place is filthy!  Ugh!  Can anything be done about it?

Done that, I even had a Phone Call with the District Manager out of Philadelphia about 3 years ago. I complained about how dirty it was, how non-polite the staff was especially in the Drive-Thru during the after dinner hours. They made changes in Management, staff and even the inside appearance, not just on my complaints. She sent me about $50 in free food to do a “Customer Surveillance”, sad part is I actually did it, lol. Ah free food no matter what it is, I’m easy. It got better, not perfect, but honestly they need staff to keep on it, and it being located so close to 83 doesn’t stop it from becoming a Travelers toilet. You can see a difference if you go inside of Wendy’s its never as bad as McDonald’s and it sits further off of 83.

Yeah I can’t see anything ever really being done about it. Yes it is filthy (was just there a few weeks ago), but I imagine the employees just don’t care. I watched a few walk right by trash sitting on the floor. I took my son there once last year and he wanted to play on the playground. I wouldn’t let him due to the uncleanliness of the place. But I also have to admit: I LOVE MCDONALDS and will keep going. I know, its sad…

Oh and I never ever go into their bathroom, I try to stay out of public bathrooms.

If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a closed room with a mosquito.

I wouldn’t recommend going either there or Taco Bell/KFC.  McDonald’s failed health inspection just after they did their remodel in the dining room, and does things like leave trash all over the floor even during health inspection.  KFC/Taco Bell had to close at least one year due to failing health inspection (you get 2 chances before they close you for a day to clean, took them 3 tries to pass it).  The other places in Shrewsbury are generally clean.  Joan, the general manager at Wendy’s does hold great pride in her store and makes sure the kitchen stays clean.

I don’t remember KFC ever closing for a year or did you mean once in a year’s time frame?

Oops, I worded that badly.  What I meant was that they had to close for a day because they failed their yearly health inspection.  They failed the initial health inspection, failed their second chance 2 weeks later, and were required to close for a day or two to clean and get a 3rd health inspection before they finally passed.  I think this may have been 3-4 years ago and I haven’t eaten there since, but I have never seen anything resembling clean in there.

We’ve switched to Wendy’s.  It is very clean compared to McDonald’s ... I can actually lift my eyes from my burger and look around without losing my appetite.  No flies either.  You pay quite a bit more but I guess you get what you pay for.

I’m still trying to lose the mental picture of the layers of built up old brown ketchup around the hole in the trash can where I tossed my placemat and replaced my tray. Ugh.

I called about 2-3 years ago too but nothing happened for many months and then the remodel.

Stop going.  We don’t go there anymore.  Haven’t in a very long time.  Try Chick-Fil-A or Wendy’s.  Might be a little more $$, but it’s clean and the food tastes better!

See thats the problem, I totally disagree with you about the food smile I am not a big fan of chick-fil-a and wendy’s is just alright. Always been a mcdonald’s kinda guy. I just go through the drive thru and ignore the inside nowadays.

I am a Chick-Fil-A fan too!  The employees are also some of the most courteous in the fast food industry.

Yeah really, that’s some of the most disgusting food on the planet, you’re putting it in your mouth to eat but worried about the dirt on the floor. And I typically like greasy food and fried stuff but something about McD’s just turns my stomach it’s like they use 10W30 fryer oil.

Don’t forget about Arby’s.  It’s usually clean and is a good burger alternative.

I avoid that McDonalds too for that reason.  Not too mention that the service is not so great either!

I prefer Wendy’s, Arby’s & Chick-fil-A.  Much better all around in my opinion.
