Graduation Project!

I am a senior at Kennard-Dale High School, and I really do not understand the whole idea behind Graduation Project.  I have to present my Grad. Proj., March 18th.  I really see no point to doing this, at all.  And I really hate the fact that someone could be a straight A+ student, fail Graduation Project, and not graduate the year that they are suppost to.  It can also be very stressful on the student, who could have either a job, or play a sport.  Having to do either activity, or even both, plus homework gives us practically no time for ourselves if we want to put effort into the project, to guarantee our passing.  I myself have chosen to create a web page for my project.  Let me know what you think of it!.  I also have found out that they have done away with it, but only for the freshmen and future generations.  I think that they should also cancel it for Juniors and Sophmores, and also the Seniors that have not already presented.  And for those who have already presented and failed (heaven forbid), they should be exempt from this failure and not be required to re-present their project.  And for those whom have presented and passed (good job 8) ), they should recieve that grade towards their final GPA for the year.  Every student, that I know personally ABSOLUTELY agree with me on this subject.  And for the students that think that this project is useful, they should make it a optional course instead of a required one.

Pleaze reply if you either agree or disagree with me on this subject.

Hey Pasture02
I agree that the graduation project was not a good idea. And apparently the school board agrees since it has been discontinued for incoming freshmen.  My daughter is in the 9th grade this year and there are still extra projects that need to be done as graduation requirements, but not on the large scale that you and many others have had to endure.  Everything you stated in your posting has merit and I am just sorry that you still had to make your presentation (How did you do?) However, I did not realize that the project was to be the determining factor in whether or not you graduated.  I also visited your website, nice job.

I want to commend you for the web site that was done as a grad project.  I agree that something of this nature is time consuming, I have done 2 sites myself, the Eureka Fire Department and Stewartstown Police Department.  From what I have seen of your site, I hope that you received the A+ that you deserve!  8)

8) I’m happy to say that I did pass graduation project, with honors!  But despite this, is still feel that it wasn’t a good idea from the beginning.  I would personally like to thank both townangel and darecop for your responses, (thanx guys!) I’m just sorry it took me so long to respond, I’ve just been overwhelmed with final projects and tests.  Also I’ve been scheduled to work almost everyday for the past 2 months, which didn’t leave me much time to respond.  Again thank you! 8)
