Have you been there lately?

Oh my!  It stinks like dirty wash cloths.  I walked in and walked out.

The big metal sign near the video store entrance has been knocked down and laying on the ground for at least 6 weeks.

We ate at Wendy’s instead.

Yes the hygiene of some of the employee’s there is questionable.  I know the taco bell across from it has been shut down several times for health code violations.  Wendy’s probably isn’t much better.  I heard that they keep cleaning products underneath the booths were customers sit to eat.  Which i guess can’t really hurt anything, but still.

That’s a good thing in my opinion.  At least they have cleaning products! LOL

In my opinion, Wendy’s and Chick-Fil-A are the best fast food place in Shrewsbury.  McDonald’s has been going down hill for years.  It’s always dirty and the service has gotten bad too.  I avoid it.

Wendy’s is always clean, the food is good as well as the service.

We went into Wendy’s today and sat for a quick lunch.  I was very impressed!  It was so clean and the people behind the counter were very nice. The chilli was good too.

With complaints posted here regarding cleanliness, etc. has anyone bothered to report the establishment to the York County Board of Health or call the establishment’s toll free number to register complaints? It doesn’t appear either of these have been done.

Yes, I called the 1-800 number on the cup after the smell of dirty washcloths mowed me down.  The large metal sign is still laying on it’s side near the movie rental place which is my indication they haven’t been paid a visit yet.

Does anyone have the York Co. Health Dept.’s phone number?

SNOOK3133:

I haven’t eaten at Taco Bell in years.....I had been to three different Taco Bell’s (in PA and MD) and always found them to be dirty, and watching the employees fix the meals behind the counter is a wake up call.....having worked in the food industry for several years, I know just by the looks of the counters and floors, it’s breaking codes. I just avoid the chain all together. My children always bugged me to go in there, but I always refused. Then they had that food situation about a year ago.

GROSS! (We make our own mexican food at home now)

Taco Hell (lol)

After all their food issues/poisonings and the condition of the bathrooms (disgusting) that’s been off of my list for quite some time.

It’s summer time, get some ground beef, cheap hot dogs (usually Giant has them two for one), go to the Amish Market! The chicken from Patch’s tastes like Chicken should. Do it yourself, the satisfaction of being the hero griller is very fullfilling.  Trust me, my husband also has a stone firepit that he burns left over wood in, and the credit card offers. I know, carbon into the atmosphere,..sorry we’re burning.  Sometimes you can see it from I-83 going north.

Actually the county does not have a board of health because of its size. The city has their own board of health though. In our county we fall under the state and complaints would be handled by the Department of Agriculture who’s phone number is (717) 346-3223.

Good Luck!

Correct JH, more specifically, it’s the Bureau of Food Safety which does inspections, the Food Safety Supervisor in that division is Lawrence Sulpizio, maybe some e-mails to him would get them on an upcoming inspection visit, who knows.

My 3 year old son refuses to eat in ANY McDonalds because of the one In Shrewsbury...he says we cannot go there because there are too many germs!

(wonder where he got that idea?  tongue rolleye ).

Stick with Chic-fil-a; have never been treated wrong there and the place is clean.

/How I wish that stuff was good for me...I would love to survive on their grilled chicken sandwiches and waffle fries…

I ate at the Shrewsbury McDonald’s and was also appalled by the uncleanliness.  My wife and I took our 4 year old daughter there for dinner on a Monday night.  The place was a ghost town, but the entire playground area was messy, with dirty tables, smudges all over the place, etc.  The bathroom is also a nightmare.

If I were a Health Inspector, I would shut the place down, or fire the manager(s).

Poor Management I am sure. The owner must be miles from here huh?
