The Academy of Arts Drama Team of Taylors, South Carolina, will perform “Raise the Flag,” a patriotic musical at Grace Bible Church in downtown New Freedom on Sunday, August 5th at 10:45 A.M.
This original musical by Nicky Chavers traces the integral part that Christianity played in the establishment of America, beginning with the sacrifices of the Pilgrim Fathers and ending with a Christian view of the September 11th tragedy.
“Raise the Flag” depicts scenes from the life of the Pilgrims and shows the godly character of George Washington at Valley Forge. It demonstrates God’s guiding hand in our history, as the Colones became free and independent states.
Through original songs, touching scenes from American history, poetry and actual speeches from famous patriots, “Raise the Flag” tells the true story of the founding of America as a Christian nation. Every Christian who loves his country must see this stirring musical and hear such songs as “They Raised a Standard,” “Washington Was His Name,” “Christ Hath Made Us Free,” and “Raise the Flag.”
Employing professional state lights, sound, and costumes & props, the Drama Team will present a deeply moving musical drama which is sure to challenge the hearts of all Christians. The cast is made up of high school and college aged young people, who are dedicating their summer to making the Bible come alive.
The service begins at 10:45 A.M., and the public is cordially invited. There is no admission, but a freewill offering will be received to defray the expenses of the Drama Team. The church is located at 18 W. Main St, New Freedom, PA.
