Ed Rendell and 56 other Pennsylvania candidates comment on “Clean Elections”.
CleanElectionsPA.org has posted comments by 57 Pennsylvania candidates for Governor, Congress, State Senate and the State House about their positions on publicly funded elections, also known as “Clean Elections”.
Clean Elections, a system of voluntary public funding of election campaigns, has been working in Arizona and Maine for the past six years. Candidates who agree to strict spending limits and agree to accept no private campaign money, not even their own, are provided with a set amount of public funding for their campaigns.
Citizens are invited to learn more about Clean Elections, review the candidates’ comments and communicate with the candidates at http://www.CleanElectionsPA.org.
The group of candidates posting favorable comments includes 29 Democrats, 9 Republicans, 6 Greens, 1 Libertarian and 2 Independent candidates. Prior to the May primary, CleanElectionsPA.org posted comments from candidates in contested primary races, 10 of the favorable comments were from Republicans and 9 from Democrats.
