By now many of you have probably read the York sunday News article which mentioned two of the sitting County Commissioners plan on using bond money they approved for specific projects, emergency management; 911 system; upgrading voting machines; etc. to fund the stadium. In my opinion, this is intentional misappropriation of funds on the part of Commissioners Reilly and Glass!
Even the county’s underwriters that underwrite all bonds for the county have clearly stated they would not underwrite the bond for the stadium because of lack of financial information and too great a risk. By the way, the county’s underwriters were not asked to underwrite the $12 million bond for the stadium.
There will be a protest tomorrow Tuesday, November 11th at 5PM at the square in the city [George & Market Streets].
If anyone can make up a couple of signs it would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
It would be nice if people from the county attended. After all county taxpayers dollars are at risk too.
