I have found myself in the lovely position of a layoff (third one this year - must not be my year). I have been beating my brain trying to find some options out there. What I hope is that some of the fine folks on this forum might be able to offer me some hints on where to look. Here is my basic background and some the titles I have held:
- 14+ yrs in Information Technology
- 10+ yrs in Management roles
- 10+ yrs in Project Management
- 11+ yrs Lotus Notes/Domino development and administration
- Well versed with Microsoft Exchange, Windows 2000 and NT, Office, Visio, Quickbooks
Titles I have had:
- Senior Consulting Practice Manager
- MIS Manager
- Business owner (over successful 5 yrs)
- Senior Consultant
- Senior Instructor
- Training Center Manager
I have registered with several job sites (Monster, Careerbuilder). I have tried agencies but they are useless for the most part unless they have something sitting on their desk for you. I am open to Baltimore, Harrisburg, York or Lancaster. For more money, Philadelphia or Northern VA/DC are options (I would stay through the week in either place).
Any suggestions on companies or people I should talk to would be greatly appreciated. In this region, I will take anything since my unemployment is soon running out. I need to find about 50K eventually in this area.
