Well since I don’t have a board anymore and my old trick bike is hanging up in the garage, I think I will take my cycle out for a nice ride tonight!!! Maybe ride out to Rita’s for an Italian Ice, or wendy’s for a frosty, or something, its way nice outside
I have a great problem with kids skate boarding in the middle of the road! It’s a huge saftey issue. They always ride down the road and refuse to move untill you almost hit them. I am required to almost stop and wait for them to move. One once fell off right infront of me while doin some stupid jump, he rolled out of the road, and I proceeded to flatten his skate board cause it rolled right infront of me! Stay in the skate park!!!
Skateboarding is not a crime but obstructing the flow of traffic is!!!
Are we allowed to ride a horse to the ice cream shop or is there local law that prohibits that?
I suspect you would be required to pick up any poop.
Sure, but my point being is to find out if there is a law that prevents one from taking their horse to the ice cream shop? We already know it is okay to take a bike and NOT a skateboard.

I think horses can have sno-cones, but not soft-serve.

That is unless he is the talking horse, The Famous Mr. Ed! He can have soft serve. Wonder if an Amish buggy has ever hit an Amish kid on one of those fancy skateboard skooters they have? Hoof prints on the forehead.

I guess we don’t have any local Amish in our community. They are further east I think? Anyway, I would love to see someone ride their horse to the icecream shop if it is legal. Being that folks are able to ride bikes and NOT skateboards. My point is I bet anything there is not a local law that prevents that because perhaps no one has tried to. I’m sure some folk around here have horses?

My response was purely tongue in cheek and in no way meant to reflect on your post. I watch the buggies go by here in New Park all day long, and I saw one as I was typing and thought I would add it into my post, that’s all.
Reminds me of the old Dana Carvey bit on Saturday Night Live. We ate dirt, yeah dirt and we liked it!
Like all good comedians, he lifted it from Monty Python.
As for riding horses, I didnt see any specific exclusion to it all the way through the state level. You would be held to the borough Pooper Scooper law, as it applies very generally to ‘Animals’. There might be an issue if more than a couple of horse riders got together, it could be declared a parade, and for that you generally need a permit.
And there are Amish in the area. A lot closer than you think.
All of this talk of horses and Amish has me remembering a joke.
What do you call a man with his arm up to the shoulder in a horse’s butt?
An Amish mechanic....
