Ok, I hate to complain again because it seems like a trend on the Community Forums,
HOWEVER, after my W2 forms were misplaced (thus marking the 5th time something important has mysteriously disappeared in the mail) I feel like I need to post this topic.  Is everyone else getting their mail OK???  What’s worse is when I called to complain about it the postmaster told me that putting a letter in your mailbox is like “ building a little paper boat and setting it afloat in a river”.  I was also told that there is nothing I can do.  Go figure.  Ok, maybe I’ll just start telegraphing my bills or sending smoke signals.  This has become quite aggravating and ,I hate to say it, but the last straw.  As soon as I find a new job / area to live I am out of here.

I hate to break the bad news to you but the response you got from the Post Office is the same one you will get anywhere you go. Some Post Masters follow rules to the letter - that in mind, is your address perfect? Are you sure it is not happening in Lancaster? All mail from here goes to Lancaster to be sorted. Same with inbound mail - it goes to Lancaster to be sorted.

I lived in Northern VA for quite a few years. I got some stuff almost a year after it was sent. Turned out that the sorting facility (Merrifield) was stashing bag upon bag of mail in tractor trailers during bad weather so it would not show up on their counters. Once the bag enters the facility, the delivery clock begins ticking. They didn’t empty some of these trucks for two years.

You can move if you want, but don’t count on finding anything any better.
