And come into the now air-conditioned Community Center building and play some Bingo!  Bingo starts at 7:30 and runs until 10, except on Saturday, it will probably go until 10:30.

It was probably the safest place to be in town last night, as the whole SPD was there as well as 2 YC Sheriff’s. Not that the town isnt safe smile

My family had such a great time at the Carnival last night.  My son and his friend teamed up and we let them walk around by themselves for a while.  We kept watch from the pavillion and made them check in after every other ride they got on.  I felt very comfortable allowing them to walk around by themselves.  There were a ton of teenagers from the neighborhood helping me keep an eye on them.  I just love the small town feel here, and the Carnival is an event we look forward to each year.  Thanks to everyone that runs this event.  It really is a fantastic family affair!

My only complaint (and I realize this is silly) is that we missed the tractor-pulled shuttle.  Seems we’ve grown so big that we need a bus for the shuttle!  I’m sure it’s more efficient and probably safer.  We just always enjoyed that little tractor ride through town!  Oh well - I appreciate the safety factor and that far outweighs the novelty of a tractor ride.

Thanks for the wonderful compliments. The reason we don’t run the tractor shuttles is due to liability. Our insurance carrier notified us last year that they did not want us to use these shuttles due to safety. We hope everyone has had a good time this week so far. If you have any complaints or concerns please PM me or stop by the soda stand. THANK YOU!

I thought the band on Tuesday night was pretty good and my son was a happy little carnival goer. Especially since he went home with a bunch of prizes from the games. Loves his skateboard that I won him, he asked me to show him some tricks I used to do on a board...oh to be young again…

That was the first time in many years for me to go there, good times smile

Fawn Grove’s Olde Tyme Days got rid of the tractor shuttle for the same reason. Its a bummer, but quite understandable.

I figured safety was the reason the shuttle had been changed from the tractor pull to the bus. Makes perfect sense. I actually remember riding it last year and thinking how easy it would be to have a child fall off and get hurt.  Why is that some of the most dangerous things are so darn fun!  Bummer!  Anyhow, I respect that decision and just can’t say enough good things about this event!!! Great job guys!

I’m sure the Chief or someone else involved with Eureka knows, you should ask them smile Bands rarely play for free, and most of these bands do carnival/festival type circuits all summer......for many of them it’s a full time job, not a weekend band job smile

Only at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville TN where county music groups want to be recognized and hopefully picked up by a recording studio. These performances are frequently attended by recording studio agents. The Wildhorse Saloon is frequently aired on CM station.

It’s a shame the tractor shuttles were eliminated. Unfortunately we live in a society today where a lot of people are sue crazy.  downer

Be sure to come out tonight for a special treat - the dunking tank! Last night Jeff Bruening was the victim.  LOL

Tonight the dunking tank will be starring the following victims-- Jeff Bruening and Chris James.  smile

It was mentioned last evening that John Olwert was supposed to be one of the victims but I didn’t see him last night.  long face Perhaps he is scheduled for another night.  smile

One very special display at the carnival in the air-conditioned community center building is “Operation Patriot.” Uniforms from every branch of the military are on display from numerous conflicts. Many are extremely old and rare.

This is the private collection of Bill Zinnert who is looks forward to visitors seeing the display. Bill is very knowledgeable about military history and will be more than happy to share his knowledge with visitors and answer any questions visitors may have.

This is a great opportunity for children, young adults and adults to learn first hand military history.

Bill travels all over the U.S.A. throughout the year accompanying his display.

I can’t believe I did that! My brain said Reed but my fingers had a mind of their own and said James LOL

Thanks for correcting me Ira.  smile

I hope no one plans on dunking Chris James now because of what I posted. What a terrible typo mistake I made.

I’m truly sorry Chris wherever you are.

I can’t believe I missed the dunking again Thursday night after I posted it to this forum.  long face
