I saw in the York Daily record that the Stewartstown Fireworks are on the 4th at 9:30.  I thought that they were on the 5th.  Does anyone know the correct day?

The Stewartstown Borough 3rd Quarter Newsletter for July/August/Sept. 2008 clearly states:

“Fireworks display will be held on Saturday, July 5th, 2008 at 9:30 pm., at the community center grounds located at 16 College Avenune.”

I would believe this information over the YDR info.

Plus, our party is tomorrow night and we told everyone to stay and watch the fireworks from the top of our backyard!

Today’s YDR states “Stewartstown is holding its annual fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Saturday...following a concert beginning at 6:30 p.m.”

I drove by the Community Center around 6:30ish and it was empty - so I think it’s safe to say they are tomorrow night.

Next year it would be nice if something came out in the quarterly newsletter that we get in April.  So people can plan ahead and there wouldn’t be all this panicked confusion.  We moved our annual party, but on my way home last night, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a field full of people.  Luckily, there wasn’t.

if you go to the HARP website, you can request for email notification of local activities etc.  I got an email last week about whats going on Saturday for the fireworks, however, my kids heard and saw some that looked they were coming from the fairgrounds and were mighty upset with thinking i was wrong, lol....

Thanks to HARP and Eureka and everyone involved.  The show again was amazing and everyone at our house had a blast, capping off the night with a great fireworks show.

Chris, I am sorry that you feel the fireworks were so boring. I myself am thankful that our community has organizations that care enough about our small town to put forth the effort to bring us the various activities they do. These people graciously volunteer their time, and ask for nothing in return. You can’t expect big city fireworks in a small town. Perhaps next year you should consider going elsewhere for your viewing pleasure. Normally I wouldn’t reply to someone’s post in this manner, but, you really struck a nerve with me.

Never said it was in Stewartstown..maybe I should go edit my post and add that. Thought people could infer that, since I added the baseball game beforehand. As I don’t think Stew. had a ball game beforehand, think they had music smile

Well I apologize for assuming that you went to the Stewartstown fireworks; since this is Stewartstown.com (I realize though this site is for So. York Co.) and our fireworks were last night.  Guess maybe you could have said where you were and no one would have to infer anything.

since this is Stewartstown.com

This is not stewartstown.com(anymore) although a lot of the posting comes from that area.

I knew that he wasn’t talking about Stewartstown’s fireworks. Not everything posted in here revolves around Stewartstown.
