Did anyone get a notice today to boil water?  I live in the Borough and someone put a paper in my door stating that the water will be shut off tomorrow from 9:30 until 3:00.  I am concerned what time the water was considered contaminated.  Are we at risk if we drank the water prior to receiving this notice?  Also, I have spoken to some friends, and they have not received a notice.  They live in the borough also.  I am a little frightened because I have a child and I am a diabetic.  I don’t need health risks from my water!

I received a notice that was on my door upon arriving home.  Sounds like a precaution based on the fact that there was a leak (apparently this morning) that lowered water pressure and could possibly have allowed something into the line.  We’re just drinking bottled water for the next couple of days and turned off the ice-maker, but it doesn’t sound like too big of a deal to me (unless you need water tomorrow during the day!).  It’s good that they’re playing it safe I guess.  Not sure if this affects everyone on the system though...maybe just down-stream (or is it down-pipe?) from where the leak was.

This leak is in the area of Ecker Ave, Katie Ct., and Ice House Dr. We are required by DEP to issue the notice to the residents in the affected area. Upon making the repairs and turning the water back on we will be taking a bacteria sample which will take 24 hours to find out the results. Sometime in the late afternoon on Wednesday we’ll be hand delivering a letter to let you know what to do at that time. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience during this time. If you have any other questions please call my work cell at 324-2940.

I just got the word everything is good to go!  The water is safe to drink within the affected area.
