I have been there only once. I’d give it a 50/50. We enjoyed only parts of our meal. If I recall correctly the crab dip was pretty good and the creme brulee (sp). My grilled chicken ceasar was yucky, the rolls were stale. It was as if they are trying to be “fine dining” but I’ve had much better. I would give it a second chance though, if I just wanted a light meal with room for dessert, lol.

It’s had a couple of incarnations over the years I believe.  So I guess it would depend on when you went.  We went once for a bday dinner, and it was OK.  But that was 10 yrs ago.

I like going there to eat. The food isnt the best, but it is nice, close and has a great atmosphere. If you want a awesome restaurant go to the Left Bank in york. I have also heard Victors is awesome too. But if you want something charming and close go there. Just dont expect it to bowl you over. Also, the deserts are kinda bad, so save your money on those.

Horrible, all 3 of our meals were terrible, about 6 months ago. Until I hear otherwise, I would not go back.

Is it under new management?  We went a year or so ago and had tiny flies flitting about our salad and our glassware was filthy.  We haven’t returned.

It’s been under different management many many times through the years, it used to be what I would really call fine dining, on par with Milton Inn or Oregon Grille, we had business parties there, and my wife and I used to go and watch Jazz on Friday nights all the time.  More recently when it opened up under new management, prices dropped but I still think the food is good, not fine dining but still very good.  They have open mic on Monday night which was fun the one time I went and I plan on going back to play sometime, they also have outside patio seating now.

I’ve listed some of what I consider to be the best restaurants within and hour of Stewartstown...my opinions smile You should know though, if you’re looking to be cheap, wear a wifebeater, or eat hogmaw or chicken fried steak, I wouldn’t bother looking at any of the below...just stick to the local places smile

Milton Inn - Sparks, MD
http://www.miltoninn.com/

Oregon Grille - Cockeysville, MD
http://www.theoregongrille.com/

Pazo - Fells Point, MD (tapas in an open warehouse environment, latin dancing later in the night)
http://www.pazorestaurant.com/

Bel Paese - York, PA (real italian folks, not breaded crap, canned sauces and sub shop junk)
http://www.belpaeserestaurant.com/

Belvedere Inn - Lancaster, PA (jazz bar upstairs)
http://belvedereinn.biz/

Left Bank - York, PA
http://leftbankyork.com/

Woodberry Kitchen - Baltimore, MD (local produce, organic meats, sustainable ag, wood fired pizzas)
http://www.woodberrykitchen.com/

Brewer’s Art - Baltimore, MD
http://www.thebrewersart.com/

There are always new restaurants opening up in the Mt. Vernon area of Charles street as well, which is a very cool (and safe) area of Baltimore smile

YMMV smile

Glen Rock Mill Inn, did it once many years ago = long wait, terrible food, inflated prices, left hungry. I’ll never eat there again.

My first time, but definitely not my last at: Bogey Macaws at Springwood Golf Course
601 Chestnut Hill Rd., York
(717) 747-9663

The food was very good and reasonably priced.  We sat on the deck overlooking the golf course, where they had $2 all day domestic drafts.  I’m not much on french fries, but I’d go back there just for the fries - not frozen - they cut their own potatoes.

A recent visit to the Milton Inn in Sparks was less than satisfying.  The service was exemplary, the atmosphere was staid, but the food, although displayed well, was not worth the drive or the money.
