I’ve been wanting to upgrade my kitchen floor. I thought about doing it in ceramic tile but have been putting it off because I’ve never layed tile before and worry about screwing up. When discussing it online someone mentioned they prefer cork flooring in the kitchen. What are your thoughts on cork and do you stock it?

Thanks for your inquiry Tim.  Rehmeyer does not work with Cork as a flooring alternative, although it has some nice qualities and is a good fit in certain applications.  Most Cork floors are “Floating” floors - you don’t nail it like a traditional floor, nor do you normally glue it down. It’s usually set on a fiber board backer with snapping tongue and groove slots.  Rehmeyer mills SOLID Hardwoods, 3/4” thick that are all traditionally Tongue & Grooved, End-Matched and feature a Stress Relief on the underside.  Our floors would typically be nailed (or “stapled) down.  If you’d like to call us and come to the showroom, I’d be happy to show you a huge variety of our hardwood floors - all milled right here in Shrewsbury!
