Hey everyone,

Microsoft is offering Windows 7 the new operating system to students for $29.99. You must have a valid .edu email account.  You can either purchase the Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit or 64 bit) for $29.99 or Windows 7 Professional(32 bit or 64 bit) for $29.99. These are the upgrade versions of the operating system so you must have a previous version of windows installed.  The link is below I have bought both copies I don’t believe there is a limit. You can pay I think 12.99 for an actual disc otherwise you just download and burn to a DVD. Just got to the link below and hit buy, you will have to enter your .edu e-mail and link will be sent to you where you can checkout.  I have gone through the whole processes if anyone needs help. Thanks

My tech guy said that if you already run Vista, it’s not worth the switch.

If you’re running Vista, you should just go back to XP. Vista was one of the worst OS’s MS has ever made!

I got a new computer setup over the summer and it came with Vista.  Yeah, it took a little getting used to, but it works for me.

Getting used to the OS wasn’t the problem, it kept causing my computer to crash. After the third reload, I just went back to XP.

Windows 7 is really getting great reviews by tech companies and software companies.  Many people are saying it’s just as good as XP.  It is def worth the switch if you have Vista. Your tech guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about lol. Windows 7’s first release is already better than Vista which already has a service pack to it.  MS is going to stop support and windows update for XP soon (I think Jan) so I would really think about upgrading.

Any student can get this at their college and many other very cheap programs- just go to their bookstore with your student ID card or their online ID. I think it’s great
