I have not created a thread for a new epsiode in a long time but I thought this one warranted an explaination.  We changed our format for shows so that each part last no longer than 20-25 mins.  If you read the blog on the link below I explain why we had to go to the new format.  Honestly it comes down to two factors.  First, we can no longer provide the man hours and finacial resources it takes to keep producing what I feel is a better quality source of information than you get from any of the mainstream media sources.  Obviously we can’t always be on top of the latest issues but eventually we try to cover them.  Normally our programs run 1-2 hours.  Justifiably so; we’re not doing 30 sec sound bites.  That is one of the reason SYCP was created.  The second factor is technology.  We can tell from our statistics that there are still a fair amount of folks in this area on dial-up.  Dividing our programs up into parts makes it easier for them to access.  This epsidoe is aplit into four parts and will be released over three-four months.

I’ve always said that I may not be that great a host but we alwasy had terrific guests.  The election wrap-up episode is no different.  Rebecca Reynolds, Todd Lowe, and Richard Wilson not only gave yet another piece of their time to the community by agreeing to be on the program but did it with the same high degree of class in which they conducted themselves on the school board.  I would like to thank them for their service as well as agreeing to be on the program.

I also would like to take this time to thank a few of our previous guests; especially our local as well as more frequent ones. So in addition to the ones I mentioned above (pardon my spelling):

Marge Lavin
Patrick Bishop
Lara Yanney
Jeff DeWees - Sports Writer for YDR (now with the Patriot News)
Doug Wilkinson
Tracy Stauffer
Stan Saylor
Deb Tillman
Eugene DePasquale
Felicia Dell - Director of York County Planning Commision
Mary Hyson
Sherry Neal
Rob taylor
Anna Bickford
Ray Reter
Jane Mueller
Dana Alexandra
J. Ross McGinnis
Phil Staelens
John Allen - York Chess Club
Mary Swann
Brad Mendenhal - Author Sex, Money Good Grades and Other Things You Don’t Get in College
Guy Hansen - PA State Game Commision
Mike Thoman - Pheasants Forever
Selma Winemiller
Nettie Winemiller
Hope Zalewski
Cathy Hyson
Liza Naylor
Virginia Paxton
Charles Grams
CJ Henderson - Science Fiction and Fantasy Author
Dr. David Polk - York College

And many, many more too numerous to mention.  I would like to to mention Andy Isaacs from the University of Chicago for the Everyday mathematics episode as he was the guest that was furthurest away.  Penn State, Johns Hopkins also get credit for supplying us with expert guests.  As I said there are many, many, more and they all gave their time to help our community.

Over the last two years we estimated that we produced about $24,000 worth of FREE programming for the community and at no cost to the community and without any government help or intervention.  This is what community is all about.  Please consider donating to SYCP as the next few months will determine what happens when our domain name expires.  You can donate via the PayPal Button on our home page.

We are planning a pit beef and silent auction fundraiser for April 17, 2010 at 2937 Bridgeview Rd, Stewartstown, PA 17363 (On route 851 between Stewartstown and Shrewsbury. Look for the big white sign.) Also if you are interested in setting up yard sale, vendor, or organizational booths please contact us at 717 382-4943.  The cost is $10.00 per booth.  So keep your calendars open; there will be more information forthcoming.

As always please feel free to share with us your thoughts, suggestions, ideas, or opinions on this or any of our other programming.  Also you can read the blog page on the link below and respond to them.  To listen to the program, click on the link under the top image where it says Download SESD School Board Election Wrap-up Part 1 here .
