Having recently moved to the area, does anyone know how the area is for people with allergies? My son has been getting a lot of colds and he has bad allergies also. I am just curious if it is coming into allergy season here because that usually amplifies his problems.
Thanks

I think for most people with allergies, it’s rather bad.  Mine have already started.  My sister lives a half mile around the corner from me and her’s are even worse than mine.  She has to get allergy shots.  She is allergic to a lot of things though.  For me, the tree pollen around here is the worst.

Good luck with your son’s allergies!

It’s the area.  Whenever my out of town friends come here, their allergies immediately kick in.  My ex husband used to work out of town, as soon as he came home, they would start.  I also never had allergies before (I grew up in a rural area) but when I moved here I started with them every spring.  Even my dog had allergies.

Thanks, good to know, a few years ago he had to get shots so I’m thinking we might need to get him checked to see if we need to start it up again.

I never had allergies until moving here.  After almost a decade I now have allergies year round.  Each season brings something new to make my sinuses miserable.  Molds and mildew are what kills me the most. Thank goodness for neti pots.

I have allergies, and when I spent four months in the North Carolina mountain area for school, I had a large reduction in my allergies and reactions. Coming back here, it got bad again. Both my father and I get allergy shots, and we go to Allergy and Asthma on Queen Street in York. I’ve had an amazing reduction in allergy symptoms and bad allergy days since I started shots. The testing isn’t fun, but it’s definitely worth it!

I appreciate the input from everyone. Thank you. Yesterday my son was sent home from school, the nurse told my wife she thought it was a case of bad allergies and that he was battling it. He is at the Doctor’s with my wife as I reply. We’ll see what the doctor says this morning and take it from there.

Thanks, I will check them out. It has been confirmed that his allergies are the problem. Everyone has been great on here and my wife and I really appreciate it.

We have lived here about five years.  My wife has had many allergy/breathing type complaints, although my children seem not to mind.  Our insurance is for PA only....any references for this area?

Clockmaker,
There is a great allergy doc on Queen street in York. I’ve taken both my kids there and been very pleased. I’ve lived in Fawn all of my life and it just never gets better
