When I came back from taking my daughter to school around 7:40 this morning, they had the road blocked in front of the former My Three Sons restaurant and I could see fire, ambulance and police at the intersection of Main & Pennsylvania. I did not see smoke so, I don’t think it was a fire.

And on a disturbing and upsetting note, to me anyway, I saw a big, black dog lying dead in the eastbound lane on 851 this morning in front of Bridgeview Farm.  I feel like I should’ve stopped to see if it was still alive or find the owner but, it was in a really bad spot.  I did see a state policeman heading that way so, I hope he stopped.  It could have also caused an accident.

I love animals so much especially dogs and I cried the whole way to work.  I am still upset and will be for a while.  That image is bunred into my brain now.  I feel sorry for the owners.

Eveyone, please do your best to keep your pets secure.  I know sometimes they get loose but, some people just let them run too.  Please don’t do that.  It just breaks my heart to see dead animals on the road especially dogs & cats.  They should all be treated as beloved family members.  I know mine are!

I can relate and I am sorry that you were upset seeing the dog on 851 this morning........I still remember as a young child seeing a dog get hit on a major interstate and that image is forever burned in my mind!  I believe that animals should remain under their owner’s careful watch at all times!  My dog is a member of our family and she is never left out alone, EVER!
