I was hoping some of the new people really wanted to serve the community, not just attend to their own agendas.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Whoooooo boy......whoa....OK.....whew.....ah....I’m sorry.....took me a minute there to compose myself!  There doesn’t exist a politician that goes into office without a personal agenda. Just depends on how detailed and polarizing the agenda is. Of course, they ‘could’ do other things...but why bother?

I served this municipality on both planning commission and just shy of 4 years on Borough Council.  I served in the footsteps of my father who passed away in 2001 and served this municipality heavily as well when we moved here in 1991.  I’m proud of the service I gave to this community and I never campaigned on ANY agenda beyond serving the community I care about.  We exist, and I’m one of them....just sayin’ smile

No, Guy lives in the Borough, this is Stewartstown Borough business, so we will work it out without your help smile

Thanks though!

Chris, that was a trick statement!  “Serving the community you care about” was (and is) your agenda. Just happens that you had a positive personal agenda. That is CERTAINLY rare!!! smile

i’d like to second what chris said....i, too, served on the borough council (for 18 years)....i have been on the sewer/water authority for 10 years...i had/have no “personal agenda” other than the good of the community. when i was running for election, it was hard to get candidates to run...not many people wated to “get involved”...now it seems everybody wants to run so that they can advance their (or their party’s) agenda. it never used to matter what party you belonged to...now it’s everything...it’s all “organized”. i believe i was one of the very first people to be defeated by party affiliation after 18 years in office. unfortunately for us democrats, it’s the republicans who, under the guidance, ability and enthusiasm of councilman chris reed (a “good” republican, by the way) have the majority AND the support of a majority of voters. unfortunately, i think some not-so-good republicans are taking advantage of what chris did, to their own ends.

You and Guy are no longer on Borough Council so get over it.  The new slate won fairly, cleanly, and by comfortable margins.  WE WILL work it out without your help.

Sure, they won, but will they do the whole job and serve their municipality or just serve their own agendas, this has yet to be seen, and the initial reluctance to volunteer for liasion positions that are part of the job of being councilperson is a little concerning.  We’ll wait and see I guess, here in the Borough that is, I’m pretty sure you live in the Township smile

You know who I am, who are you again Wolfgang, do tell smile

Did any of the remaining members of the board step up for the liasion positions?
Shouldn’t we be looking at everyone on the board and not just the new people and their personal agendas

Someone mentioned your name above in this thread.  If they didn’t say your name, I wouldn’t have known who you were since your name is not on your profile or your signature.

I won’t put my name on here because I think I misspellled some words and I don’t want that to come back to me if I run for Mayor/Council/School Board/Police Chief/Fire Chief/Parade Grand Marshal.

So let me get this right, just because they are no longer on council they shouldn’t care?  “The new slate won fairly, cleanly” - now that’s a HOOT.  “WE WILL work it out without your help” makes me think you may be one of the newly elected members.  I’m making some pop corn for the next meeting...it sure is going to get interesting.

No, Gordon and Bill did not step up either, but I am not sure of their current liaison responsibilities.  Chris, however, resigned from his liaison position from HARP due to a conflict with his work schedule.

havashot, please do not misunderstand.  I am not questioning anybody’s commitment to their community.  I do not know what anyone’s time commitment for work, family, and community.

To be honest, I don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to helping out in the community.
I was just asking a question.  that’s all.  That’s my personal agenda =)
