Can anyone comment on our current water restriction policy WRT car washing.  I heard that we are allowed 3 minutes every other Saturday - but can not find anything in writing.  I need to get a coat of wax on my car!

Stewartstown.org states “No outside use of water such as washing vehicles, houses, sidewalks, driveways, and or watering lawns and shrubbery.” as part of the MANDATORY water restrictions.  I have not heard of the 3 minute every other Saturday rule so I would advise digging out those quarters and going to the car wash if you need that wax job.

WGAL news just announced that York county is in the orange zone which means residents are to conserve 10% to 15% of their water.

I remember hearing several months ago on WGAL news that the governor had implemented a water conservation plan which permitted washing of vehicles every other weekend depending upon the house number where a person lived. I think this information can be obtained from either the governor’s web site or DEP’s web site.

People should have been taught when they were children how to conserve water. People should know better than to take advantage of the natural resources we have been blessed with.

Why people let the water run continuously when brushing their teeth is just as insane as letting water run continuously when shaving.

keep in mind, regardless of what the state ‘s position, stewartstown is still under mandatory restrictions until lifted by mayor hall. that means NO outside use. :!: 

Effective on 12/2 the Mayor has changed the Stewartstown Borough Water Customers back to voluntary conservation.

Primary reasons where that outside water usage would be minimal, the plants/trees are drinking less during the winter and the resevoirs from York Water have since returned to 100% of their capacity.
