Here in Stewartstown the sirens are calling in the volunteer firefighters and/or ambulance staff to the station. In addition to the sirens, the staff have pagers that alert them to calls.
You can pretty much bet that any time it is rainy, foggy, snowing, sleeting etc.. the alarm will go off. In fact many times when storms are coming many of the volunteers head up to the station ahead of time as experience has shown they will be called in sooner or later so they might as well be ready to go.
