Election day as we all know is quickly approaching and around the corner.
Any registered voter who might think they will not be able to get to their polling place on election day November 8th have until this coming Monday October 31st to visit the county elections office at 1 West Marketway In York City to complete an absentee ballot application. The voter can also cast their vote right there after completing the application.
It is too late for the county elections office to mail out absentee ballot applications or for absentee ballot applications be mailed to the county elections office. There isn’t enough turn around time. The absentee ballot must be received by the county elections office no later than this coming Friday 4:30p.m.
If per chance after voting via absentee ballot a voter discovers they can make it to their polling place on election day they are required by law to do so. The voter needs to inform the election workers that they voted via absentee ballot and would like to void that ballot and vote in person.
Polling places are open from 7:00a.m. until 8:00p.m.
