Hopewell Township launches websiteHopewell Township has its new website up and running, and if you’re a resident of the township, I think you’ll like it. While Township Supervisor Joe Brock describes the site as a continual work in progress, there is already a lot of good information there. Like what you ask? I’d suggest you go to www.hopewelltownship.com and take a look, but here’s a quick sampling: Tax information, census data, elected officials, Board of Supervisors meeting minutes, Planning Commission meeting minutes, township calendar, permit information, and more. The website is made possible by new software purchased for the township office. Joe Brock trained Pat Schaub, Township Manager, and her assistant, Marcia Rhodes to use the software. The entire staff worked on the site structure and cooperatively develop it. Originally suggested by Joe, the other Township Supervisors--Bill Streett and David Wisnom--supported the website idea, and it became part of a technology initiative comprised of 5 items:
1. A township website;
All of the items except for number 4 are now complete. High-speed internet access is especially challenging for those living outside of town areas where cable and telephone company high-speed access technologies are rarely available. No solutions yet, but there are several possibilities. Stewartstown Borough is also in the process of developing an official website, so stay tuned. I fully support these official websites. They complement Stewartstown.com and fill a void in providing pertinent and timely information to area residents.
