Southern York County Podcast

There will be a new local podcast called the Southern York County Podcast. Though no pragrams have been scheduled yet, programs will explore issues pertaining to southern and southeastern York county, PA.

Podcasting will take place at the Mason Dixon Library in Stewartstown, PA.  Issues important to southern York county; and when relevant, broader York county and Pennsylvania state issues as well. Organizers hope to get guest on the show to discuss issues.  Guests would include would not be limited to representatives of community groups, community officials, school board members, local candidates, county and state officials that represent our area, etc.  Each program will be on a particular issue.  The podcast hopes to explore issues such as community growth, quality of our schools, taxes, public transportation, etc. 

The podcast also hopes to present programs on local high school sports ;boys and girls fall, winter, and spring sports for the Kennard Dale Rams and the Southern Warriors.  Coverage would include season previews and season wrap-ups.  They hope to be able to include local sports writers, coaches and other experts around the state, and occasionally student athletes on thier guest list.  They will discuss which local kids are being recruited by colleges around the country and what kids from around the state are looking into accepting athletic scholarships at area colleges.  If successful, coverage would occasionally include all of the YAIAA, PIAA District 3, the CPIHL, as well as state championships.  The podcast also hopes to cover topics for local sportsmen. 

Finally, the podcast would like to cover local events, history, art, and culture. Organizers hope to establish guests relationships with local theaters, such as the Strand Capital Theater, the Pullo Arts Center at Penn State York, local festivals, local authors, and authors that are visiting York county.

If any one is interested in hosting some of the shows that they may be interested in they can contact the podcast at .  This could be a great opportunity for community members to get involved and meet people from around southern York county and beyond.  Also a good opportunity for college students interested in getting experience in journalism, humanities, social sciences, and political science.
