Stewartstown Borough Authority received a $392,838 loan and a $434,712 grant to upgrade and expand the sewage treatment plant and improve the quality of the plant’s discharges, as well as reduce nitrogen and phosphorous emissions from the plant.
During the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Authority (PENNVEST) board meeting, more than $100 million was announced for 34 projects in 23 counties. The money comes from a $50 million grant from Pennsylvania’s $2.8 billion economic stimulus program, and low-interest PENNVEST loans.
